The Technology and System Management team inside Engineering Unit Cloud RAN is to drive technology outlook and steer the execution thereof, work closely with product line in the realization of the cloud values and creating the strategic product plans, as well as facilitate the distributed system collaboration within EU Cloud RAN striving to support autonomy for the subsystems at the same time as a strong overall Cloud RAN solution.


About this opportunity

Collaborating with the Head of Technology & Systems Management in Engineering Unit Cloud RAN, you will lead a team of system engineers to establish relevant cloud system characteristics and measurements thereof, governance and outlook. Together with the other system teams, the team is to lead development of technology plans for the 3 to 5-year horizon as well as to ensure high level systemization and hands on evaluation of concepts. You will work closely with Cloud RAN Engineering Unit system teams and PEUs, other Engineering Units and Business Areas.


What you will do

  • As a member of the Technology and System Management leadership team, define and complete the global strategy and priorities
  • Together with the leadership team identify and drive cultural changes throughout the organization to achieve excellence in Cloud Native development practices
  • Contribute to a strong distributed system setup by bringing relevant information into the system community and help create a collaborative environment
  • Lead establishment of cloud relevant system characteristics, positioning of different solutions (one server, multi-server, distributed, centralized) and outlook
  • Lead the development of a measurement strategy for characteristics in unknown and diverse environments
  • Ensure traffic and other relevant scenario modelling for system characteristics
  • Provide cloud system characteristics information sharing and governance across the EU and act as main interface towards other EUs in relation to system characteristics
  • Lead E2E technology domains such as Assurance, match to customer values and assess/drive technology readiness
  • Provide input to solution steps for customer delivery in alignment with the target architecture together with the programs, including systemization of the solution steps


You will bring

  • Strong domain knowledge to have the needed credibility with our teams, our customers and suppliers
  • Ability to handle the balance between long term objectives and near-term execution, as well as to move forward despite uncertainties
  • Experience in identifying and developing evolving technology areas
  • Record of accomplishment of delivering product projects
  • Experience in development initiatives in multi-site organizations or projects
  • Strong product discovery attitude
  • Curiosity in new ways of working, solutions, ecosystem and customer perspectives
  • Deep understanding of system characteristics and connection to customer values, including ability to drive new ways of thinking thereof
  • Ability to influence others without formal mandate
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate and engage with customer and stakeholders
  • Academic degree in Science or Engineering M.Sc. or PhD.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
