Position Snapshot

The position is responsible to ensure that all Nestlé facilities (factory, distribution center, warehouse, head office, sales branch, research & development center) have a secure working environment and safeguard operations from external security threats as well as internal malpractices. Also, this position is responsible to ensure that adequate Business Continuity Plans (BCP) including Disaster Recovery Plans are in place, which are documented and with regular validation, testing and update to ensure continuity of identified critical business functions and processes during the disrupting incidents.

Position Summary

Key Outputs:

  • Ensure compliance to the Nestle Group Security: Objectives, Operational and Organizational Requirements Standard, by conducting site security assessments and a report on each visit with recommendations for changes to the security provisions in line with the risk and threat assessments.
  • Ensure the implementation of the Nestlé security objectives and strategy for the local Nestle Market through assessment of progress and performance in personal and site security, in relation to the Security Road Map and close collaboration with Zone Security Manager (ZSM) in achieving the annual Group and Zone security objectives (Security Road Map).
  • Introduce and maintain security best practices throughout the Market, as defined within the Group Security Strategy. Priority will be given to the protection of Nestlé's employees and customers/consumers, Nestlé's reputation, Nestlé's brands and products, and Nestlé's property and assets.
  • Implement the effective and regular Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan validation, testing and update in coordination with the specific Process/Functional Owners as well as support the Site BCM Coordinators in continually improving the Site Business Continuity Plans (BCP) through Business Impact Analysis (BIA).
  • Conducts Business Impact Analysis (BIA) on a yearly basis to continually identify potential opportunities and threats to the Nestle organization, their impacts to business operations and provide a framework for building operational resilience with the capability for an effective response that safeguards the interests of key stakeholders, reputation, brands and value-creating activities.
  • Follow-up/assist in the implementation of the agreed action plans to sustain improvement of the identified “priority” critical processes, activities and their functional dependencies to meet the business objectives in spite of the unavoidable disrupting incidents.
  • Ensure proper implementation of the BCP as invoked in order to continue/enable the organization deliver its critical business functions during the disrupting incidents such as:
  • Denial of Access to Primary Sites
  • Human Pandemic
  • Product Tampering and Integrity
  • Fake Products
  • Environmental Issues
  • Work Site Incidents
  • Security Threats
  • For System Outage (SA) – coordinates with GLOBE IS/IT Responsible the IS/IT requirements to sustain the performance of critical business functions during system disruption which includes SAP, Internet and e-mail.


A day in the life of...

  • Consolidating and reporting security incidents on a monthly basis to the Zone Security Manager
  • Coordinate personal security and business continuity/disaster recovery awareness in the Market, including creation and implementation of training programs (e.g. Security Induction, Train-the-Trainer training for Site BCM Coordinators, BCM orientation/refreshers, incident scenarion drills and table top exercises for employees and/or partners)
  • Selecting, appointing, training and guiding of part-time Security Champions (SC), in close coordination with the relevant local management.
  • Assisting the Human Resources Department in conducting pre-employment screening on new staff if applicable and in compliance with local laws.
  • Ensuring that losses due to any security-related incident are promptly and fully reported by the Security Champions.
  • Advising Market management on the selection, briefing and performance monitoring of external Security Guarding companies.
  • Notifying the Zone Security Manager and the Group Security Centre of any security, political, environmental or social developments that could impact upon the Group Travel Directives.
  • Visit each facility in the region, in order to maintain direct contact with the Security Champion and local management.
  • Contribute to the reduction of MOGE through security optimization programs, and by sharing available security resources in the most cost-effective manner
  • Benchmark and network with Security Managers in other companies, organizations and government bodies, to ensure that Nestlé is able to draw upon the experience and knowledge of others.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (e.g., with RIPA, Legal, Audit, Technical, Sales, etc.) in order to address any security related issues or provide expertise and support to other functions (e.g., re: anti-counterfeit investigations).

What will make you successful

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years work experience in a manufacturing operation
  • Developed knowledge and understanding of the operation’s processes, systems, issues, business requirements and insights
  • Good experience in leading team and managing projects
  • Able to work with top management, functional staff and shop floor personnel with good credibility with all levels of the organization
  • Graduate of Technical / Science / Engineering Course
