Lead, Data Governance [Singapore]

The role plays an important part in enforcing Data Governance for the company. The role builds, enhances, maintains and enforces a control structure to ensure data is secure, private, accurate, available and usable. The role carries the mission of the department - manage risks, enable business, improve security posture and meet or exceed regulatory requirements.


Job Responsibilites:

  • Develop and establish Data Governance framework and associated policies and procedures in accordance to regulatory or legislative requirements.
  • Define Data Governance operational processes (e.g., data quality measurement, metadata management) in accordance with policies and standards, clearly articulating roles and responsibilities.
  • Work collaboratively & consultatively with users, stakeholders and IT to deliver enterprise objectives around Data Governance to identify, design, and implement internal process & framework improvements.
  • Integrate and inter-operate Data Governance frameworks and solutions together with Technology, stakeholders and all associated business processes as per best industry practice.
  • Evaluate and implement Data Governance business solutions to ensure their alignment to the data landscape, roadmap, business and stakeholder requirements.
  • Review, analyze, benchmark data management processes from partners, internal teams and vendors and lead implementation of Data Governance standards.
  • Assist the users to identify and setup critical data elements including the setup of business glossary, lineage, data catalogue and data quality.
  • Engage in Change Management processes for enterprise wide change initiatives and projects to ensure that Data Governance framework and Standards are implemented in change Initiatives.
  • Drive development, adoption and optimization to improve overall Data Governance policy, processes and standards.
  • Work with other departments to provide requisite analytics to assist in resolving Data Governance related issues and implement solutions.
  • Responsible for reviewing and recommending any data request and sharing requests.
  • Support and contribute to development of guidelines and standards for data classification, data security, privacy with Risk, Compliance and Regulatory functions.
  • Accountable for proposing, preparing and publishing Data Governance & quality metrics and KPI dashboards; manages and provides timely updates to Senior Management and various Risk / Audit Committees to ensure proper risk management.
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirement:

  • Degree in Analytics, Information Systems Management, Computer Science or related fields
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in Data Governance
  • Knowledge in international privacy and data protection regulations and frameworks
  • Relevant privacy and data protection certifications (e.g. CIPP, CIPM, IGP) is preferred
  • Experience working with cross-geographical teams in various time zones is a plus
