Job Description

  • Review and Update Credit Policies & Procedures: You will be tasked with reviewing the existing credit policies and procedures regularly. Your goal is to ensure they remain relevant, up-to-date, and in line with the organization's risk appetite and strategic objectives. If any changes are necessary, you will work on updating them accordingly.
  • Assess Applicability of Credit Policies: It's essential to assess the continued relevance and applicability of the credit policies based on the evolving business landscape and market conditions. This includes evaluating their effectiveness in managing credit risk and supporting the organization's risk management goals.
  • Challenge Credit Practices: You will play a crucial role in challenging the credit practices followed by the 1st lines of defense (e.g., front-office teams, lending departments) to verify if they align with the requirements set forth in the credit policies. By doing so, you ensure that the credit risk is adequately managed and that policies are being implemented effectively.
  • Perform Maintenance and Updates: As part of your responsibilities, you will maintain and update the credit policies as needed. This involves keeping track of changes in regulatory guidelines, industry best practices, and the organization's risk appetite.
  • Provide Advisory Support: Colleagues from different business units may seek guidance on interpreting credit policies and procedures. As a subject matter expert, you will provide advisory support to help them understand and implement the policies correctly while adhering to the organization's risk management framework.

The Successful Applicant

  • Exposure in processing/reviewing corporate/large commercial loans or exposure in credit policy review
  • Has at least 5 years of experience in the above field
  • Analytical and has critical thinking ability especially in reviewing credit proposals.
