Bakery Ingredients Business Developer


This role will be a technical & sales position targeting in store bakeries & as a backup for Independent Bakeries.


Location: Leinster and Munster


What you will do:

  • Proactively cold call to all Bakery & Food opportunities
  • Increase business within existing clients through range expansion, NPD, training bakers both in-house and in their workplace, seasonal activity and customer support.
  • Completion of any other duties as delegated by the Unifood Commercial Manager
  • Sell the range of Odlums mixes & Unifood ingredients to all in store bakeries.
  • Introduce best practice in store using production planning, stock control, range review, merchandising, hygiene, PIG guides, scaling weights, correct PLU scanning, reduce retarding where unnecessary.
  • Promote bakery production planning to help the stores get the most from their plant and staff.
  • Maximise seasonal opportunities i.e., Halloween (Brack), Easter (Sponge, Hot Cross Bun Pancake), Buns and Baps (BBQ weather).
  • Assist the Unifood Team with technical expertise and backup.

What you will have:

  • Ideally 2 years+ experience in Bakery Sales with a proven track record meeting and exceeding targets.
  • Clear understanding of the Bakery industry.
  • A strategy around New Business hunting and existing business growth.
  • Strong presentation &negotiation skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • The ability to build and maintain strong customer relationship through commercial awareness and positive business attitude.
  • A positive attitude to attending training sessions designed to upskill on -Bakery training & troubleshooting in existing and new customers.
  • A passion for Baking and gaining new business.
  • Excellent customer service ability.
  • Full clean driving licence.
